Lactose
Milk (derivative, protein, solids,
malted, condensed, evaporated, dry, whole, low-fat, non-fat, skim and goat's
milk)
Nougat
Rennet casein
Pudding
Sour cream, Sour cream solids
Sour Mild Solids
Whey (sweet, delactosed, demineralized,
protein concentrate)
Yogurt
Ingredients that MAY indicate
the presence of milk protein:
Brown sugar flavoring
Caramel flavoring
Chocolate
Flavorings (artificial and natural)
High protein flour

Simplesse®
- A "D" on a product label next to the circled K or U indicates
the presence of milk protein. These products must be avoided.
- Simplesse® is used as a fat substitute and is made from either egg or milk
protein.
- Processed meats including hot dogs, sausages, and luncheon meats frequently
contain milk or are processed on milk containing lines. Please call companies
to obtain this information.
- Parve or Pareve are words that indicate that a product does not contain,
nor run on the same line as a milk containing product.Unfortunately, these
products are no 100% safe for milk-allergic individuals.
- Luncheon meats, hot dogs and sausages may contain milk protein. Contacting
the manufacturer to verify the appropriateness for a milk-fee diet is recommended.
- Deli meats should be avoided due to cross contamination from cheeses sliced
on the same slicer. In addition, some deli meats may contain milk.
- Most rice and soy based frozen dessers are produced on shared equipment
with milk and should be avoided by milk-allergic individuals.
